- The series appears to be a parody of both long running manga such as Naruto, Bleach and One Piece, as well as "Kawaii" and "Chibi" series such as Samurai Pizza Cats.
- The titular Bunnies may be a reference to the comic book character Usagi Yojimbo, as both are katana-wielding bunnies of Asian origin.
- Probably it’s a reference to the American - Canadian cartoon series “Yin Yang Yo”
