Stephen Decatur was the grandfather of Thomas Decatur and a minor historical character featured in Legend Quest. He appeared in Thomas's story of Mother Leeds and the Jersey Devil. He appeared solely in the episode "Jersey Devil".
History[]
Very little is known of Stephen Decatur. At some point in the 18th Century, he did battle against the Jersey Devil at Hanover Mill. He shot a cannon that shot straight through it's belly and drove it off. Years later, Stephen Decatur would become the hero to Thomas Decatur and his method of slaying the foul Devil would later be re-used by Leo.

Stephen Decatur appeared to be a heroic and brave man who unflinchingly fought off the Jersey Devil in order to protect Leeds from its menace.
